2015 Medical Student Scholarship Application

Deadline to apply and submit essay was: Friday, February 6, 2015

On behalf of the SAGES Board of Governors, we announce the opportunity for medical students to attend SAGES Surgical Spring Week 2015, April 15 – 18, 2015 in Nashville, TN, by means of the 3rd Annual Medical Student Scholarship Award.

Purpose

The purpose of SAGES 2015 Medical Student Scholarship Award is to provide medical students with the opportunity to interact, train, and experience some of the courses SAGES offers during the annual meeting. Students also have the opportunity to receive valuable mentoring from a SAGES member throughout the duration of the meeting.

Eligibility

The Scholarship is open to medical students currently enrolled in medical schools located in the USA and Canada. Medical students must submit a 500 word essay explaining why he/she should be selected to attend SAGES Surgical Spring Week 2015.

Selection Process

The essays submitted will be reviewed by SAGES members. Three winners will be selected by February 23, 2015 and winners notified by February 27, 2015.

Award

Three medical students will receive complimentary registration, a check in the amount of $2,000, an award certificate, and recognition during the meeting. Winners will also be matched with a SAGES member during the meeting. Winner may pick up the scholarship award at SAGES Membership Booth.

Deadline

The 2014 entry deadline is February 6, 2015.
